Sadly I get the same FPS for this game on the lowest and highest graphics setting. Awful. -Alex-

With the possible exceptions of cloth and liquid, I haven't seen anything in these screenshots that looks like it can't be done at a decent speed in regular software.
I think it is a safe bet that they have made the soft physics subsystem of this game slow on purpose. *yawn* I might buy a PPU if they drop below the $75 range, and if more games come out that support these. $75 seems the most realistic as there are GPU's which could easily handle the vector capabilities of these cards which cost less than that. Anything higher than that is just an early adopter fee. No thanks.

It’s mostly the cloth and liquid that a normal CPU will not be able to do smoothly. As for most of the rest of it yes a very high end CPU should be able to do the rest. I played the beta back then too. With that I was able to get about 25fps or so. They have also updated the textures a bit and changed a few things too. But when I did play the beta anytime a psy bomb went off or something that moved 30+ objects my frame rate would drop down to like 5fps. In this game it’s easy to have over 200+ objects flying around your screen then blowing up into 400+ objects or more. It also has to add motion blur and bend HDR lighting and everything else around the objects. Would be impossible to do this with a normal CPU playable. They also had cloth and liquid turned off in beta. Was possable to turn cloth on but when you did your fps went to 5-10 from 25. Liquid would just not work at all without a physix card in the beta.
As I said in my top post with a physix card you would get a normal 40-60fps. with a avg 8800series C2D system, at 1920x1200.
