There are some good tutorials and tips for overclocking the i7 around the forums and on other sites.

Do some looking around and you'll see it isn't too hard. Though I wouldn't get too crazy with it until you get a good cooler.

Yea, I need to read up on it still. I have looked around and have been reading about it. This is my first PC that has the ability do really do this, so my bios has all these "new" settings that I know nothing about. I try not to jump in too quick. Like to learn on my own before asking too many stupid questions and piss people off.

I'm not sure what kind of cooler I can fit inside my miniATX case. Yes, I have a GTX-285 in a miniATX case lmao! I will post some photos later, it will make for a good laugh lol.

Many i7 920s can land on 3.5-3.6GHz with no voltage increase. Some do better. I probably wouldn't do that with the stock cooler.

Below is a very solid overclocking forum.

No Sir! It really is a microATX case and a microATX MB. It's some Asus case that I have from a bare bones PC my buddy had built for me two years ago. I know I'm dumb for not getting a good case but I have an excuse. If I would have bought a new case then that would have meant I bought a new PC, thats NOT good! Basically I had to hide the fact that I just spent $900 on a PC.

Here is my MB: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16813136066

Ohhh... wow, I didn't know DFI had a Micro-ATX X58 board.

I just recently read about Asus releasing one and I thought it was the first.

That's pretty crazy man. I'd keep an eye on the GPU temps if I were you.

Yea! Its the "Worlds fastest microATX board" LOL...That what the advertisements say

I have been keeping an eye on it, so far so good. Do you think I should put a case fan in it somewhere?..............I kids I kid I have a fan in the front sucking air in, one in the back sucking air out, one on the PSU that sucks air out the back and a slot fan in the back that sucks air out from the bottom of the case. I also have a fan where the CPU duct goes, that is sucking air in and blowing on the CPU. The GPU also sucks air out the back. But yes I have been watching the temps.

If it is artifacting at stock clocks it sounds like the memory might be bad ,you might should RMA it.Because the GTX 285 is a lot faster then a HD4850 even if you are gameing at 1620x1050 on a 22" monitor.

Damn. That's cramped.

BTW, your PSU may be cutting it pretty close with a GTX 285 and a core i7.

Regardless of the wattage, dual 12v rail PSUs aren't too good for power hungry systems like yours. Especially with only 19A per rail.

You should consider upgrading that before too long. You could run into problems later on... and there's a chance it could be related to your performance problems right now.
