Is anyone seeing an issue with DVD Menus? I've encountered a number of DVD's with menu screen problems and I've only noticed this since using xine-vdpau.

What happens is the background from the menu can be seen in addition to the "selection" icons (the lines or arrows or whatnot) that will highlight as you scroll between menu items. Everything else is missing (text, pictures, etc).

The DVD we watched yesterday was Betelgeuse and the menus had the problem indicated above. I believe 30 Days of Night had the same problem but I can't be sure. Over the past month I've encountered a half a dozen or so movies with this problem.

would you have a look please on that 576i h264 sample
http://rapidshare.com/files/225364170/00001.ts

with GPU G96 based videocards there's some ghosts during of playback.

with GPU G98 based cards everything is ok.

Sky777:

1) Test with the newest (and beta) NVIDIA drivers
2) If you still get errors - create a new thread. Your problem is most likely not Xine related.

Sky777,

Thanks to our new corporate internet filtering, I can no longer access rapidshare.com. Are you able to upload the clip somewhere else?

Note: Since the results are different on G96 and G98, it sounds plausible this is indeed a VDPAU issue. However, I can't tell, nor fix it, without the clip.

Never mind, I worked around the access issue.

Is it possible to add MPEG-2 4:2:2 support?

There are no plans for 4:2:2 at present.

Hi. I'm getting picture errors on tv1000hd channel when using vdpau. All other h264 channel works fine. I have 8400gs(g98) with 512mb ram. I'm using nvidia 185.19 drivers on 64-bit ubuntu 9.04 and xine-1.2 with vdpau-261 patch.
I uploaded a sample to http://www.sendspace.com/file/r5c3d7
It was recorded with vdr-1.6.0 and it plays perfectly using "xine -V xv". I'm getting same errors on vdr-1.7.7 so it's not a problem with vdr version.

james321,

Can you upload the sample to the NVIDIA file drop site detailed in the VDPAU sticky; our Internet filtering now prevents me from downloading files from file-sharing sites.

Also, have you tried this clip in MPlayer both with and without VDPAU acceleration?

Thanks.

I uploaded two samples to NVIDIA file drop site about a week ago. Filenames contains "tv1000hd".

When playing in mplayer i don't get picture errors, but it plays in slow motion. It plays about the same with and without vdpau.

I see (as I thought, the same) artefacts with latest MPlayer svn.
If you don't see them, add -mc 10 (and possibly -delay -0.3) to avoid desync.
