Since Vista Ultimate was a waste, I'm thinking about getting Professional.
I read somewhere, the unconfirmed full price is $299.95, but I wonder if there will be an upgrade and can I install the upgrade clean like we used to do with XP (insert media check). Thoughts? |

Branche cache, boot from vhd, and bitlocker all seem intersting to me - only included in enterprise and ultimate. I may have to actually buy a copy of ultimate this time, though direct from MS instead of retail (probably ~$60 with the discount I get).

with vista Home Premium was for home use Business was for business use, missing stuff from Home Premium like Media Center with win7 Home Premium is for home use, just like with vista Pro is not missing any Home Premium features, all is there.

XP Mode will be available on Professional, Business, and Ultimate.
I'll probably end up getting professional unless there's any major features from Ultimate that I need, which I doubt. |

Just asked my manager and he said ultimate for all of us, and like with vista, one free home install licence...Not Bad.

home premium 64-bit.
Nothing in professional, or Ultimate I care enough about. The virtual XP-compatibility add-on offers nothing to me. Currently running the RC as my primary home setup. A few quirks; mostly drivers related support issues causing me some minor problems. Some others are the Vista/Win7 revised UI limitations I'm having trouble adjusting to. Some of the new 'easier' ui changes (libraries), seem like dummy-user mode. I don't like that.
