two ways

1) JBOD (just bunch of disk) = would have to start over again, it joints two hdd together, making it look like one device.

2) don't assign a letter to the HDD, instead assign it to a folder. so your drive C would still will be 150gb, but you would have a folder with 500gb of space.
These are the two ways I would consider doing it.

To me JBOD doesn't seem like it would be that beneficial. It does allow you to span data across more than one disk, but if you ever want to remove a disk from the set you have to take all of the data off first. Also, if you run a defrag there might be data on a few different drives before the defrag, and then it will get moved all onto one disk after it's done. Not only are you not gaining performance from multiple disks, there might be significant differences in the speed between your hard drives.

I guess one advantage though would be on a Move. Instead of having to copy data from 1 drive to another, it would just update the MFT to reflect the new path without moving any data.
