The 3rd person trailer of space marine has been released by THQ looks intresting remember seeing 10min gameplay of it about a year ago with something like 100 diffrent death annimations check it out here.

Looks pretty cool... but I find it really hard to take this stuff seriously with the goofy looking gigantic armor these guys wear.

I thought it might actually be a parody after watching the trailer for a few seconds.

I realize that's how the Warhammer stuff looks... but still...

The old trailer was a different game developed by a different company but was cancelled.

This one is being made by Relic, and it looks pretty much like Dawn of War 2 SP for consoles, which acctually sounds pretty sweet IMO (Except it doesnt seem to be coming for PC at all)
Remove the UI from the DOW2 SP and remove the 3 squads and keep the main hero, and you got yourself a Action RPG looking very much like this.
Think they stuck some of the content from the old one into Relics game engine they use for DOW2/COH, looks like it atleast.

UPDATE 1- A post on Relic's boards says that this title is not the same game that was leaked in that video from last year. That clip was "for an action title Studio Aus was working on. This is a totally different project, though it does share the same name as the leaked video used."

Sounds like the action game in development at THQ Australia may have been binned, then shifted to Relic and cannibalised for parts. We'll look into it, see if the action game is still being worked on or not.

UPDATE 2 - Yup. Sources have told us that the original action title was cancelled, but that THQ thought some parts were worth salvaging, and handed the leftovers over to Relic to turn into this action RPG.

Was it really cancelled? looks alot like it even features the ultra marines too. I would of expected relic to use Blood ravens.

yes apparantly the old Space Marine game, that was shown in leaked videos some time ago was, hence why Relic now uses the name on this title.
I think Relic uses some of the content from that in this one, the stuff in here are more detailed then the stuff in DOW2. ( the kotaku article said they´re salvaging stuff from the older Space marine game so..)
I think the reason they use Ultra marines instead of Blood Ravens is because they took over the projected and salvaged parts of it, had it been theirs from the start they prolly wouldnt have.
