Hi,
I recently bought a Zotac ION ITX-B board for the sole purpose of setting up a fanless VDPAU streamplayer for Linux VDR (HDTV, that is). As it seems the graphics chip 03:00.0 VGA compatible controller: nVidia Corporation Device 087d (rev b1) is not supported yet in 180.51 and in the current beta. Both know nothing about device id 087d. When logging in, only the desktop background image is displayed, and apparently no X client can connect to the X server. When is support due? Or do I just have to add the product/vendor ID to a source file and recompile? |

Should be supported.
Generate and attach a bugreport. |

Apparently it doesn't even know about this chipset. See attached report. The Nvidia X-Server module says

Hi,
seems I was too reluctant with the beta but after it didn't work with 180.51, and the chip wasn't mentioned in the README, and not in 185.18.04's README either, I thought the documentation was consistent. So thanks for the heads up. It seems to work now -ish. The Jaunty desktop isn't set up when starting gdm but then I don't need a desktop anyway. qvdpautest-0.2 says SURFACE GET BITS: 290.644 M/s SURFACE PUT BITS: 230.523 M/s MPEG DECODING (1920x1080): 26 pic/s H264 DECODING (1920x1080): 23 pic/s VC1 DECODING (1440x1080): 30 pic/s (the MIXER tests didn't run due to an error) which isn't exactly impressing for 1080 H.264 (without window manager, just raw X) but then I run the board with a single RAM chip (i.e. not dual-channel). Next is xine-vdpau... |

I have a 9400 IGP board and a macbook using that same 9400 chipset (same as your Zotac) and it gets much better performance than that.. With your score, you wouldn't even be able to play a bluray content properly .. yet all the reviews shows that it does it easily |
