Default Best Gaming Anti Virus / Firewall

Hi,

I was wondering if any of you have recommendations for which is the best Anti Virus and Firewall for gaming PC's. I would be looking for apps which are not resource hoggers.

Bit Defender's 2009 versions are getting some good reviews and Kapersky seems to highly rated too.

What do you all think? Are any of you using this software and have any feedback or is there something else I should be considering?

Thanks for your feedback.

If you have a good router that's properly configured, Windows' built-in firewall is sufficient.

For anti-virus, I really like Norton 2009 Gaming Edition. Very light on resources, and it includes anti-spyware.

I'm always going to recommend Avira. It's free (though there is a paid version), it's fairly light weight, and if you have a real gaming system anyway, the resources won't noticeably tap into your gaming. Now, if you're still on a P4, then yea, you might lose a few FPS

But anyway, just download and try Avira. You might like it.

Kaspersky and Norton are solid choices, Kaspersky has an option that only scans new or modified files and Norton just performs well. If you have a router and aren't opening alot of ports the windows firewall is fine.

Another option would be Prevx, very low resources and better than an anti-virus for realtime protection.
