Just bought a 1792MB GTX 275. Anybody own one of these? Should be here Friday.

Nope but i'm very tempted, keep us posted of your impressions of it.I hear they draw similar power levels as my GTX so no need to change psu.

Will do. I'm looking forward to having a decent video driver again.

People that are on Win 7 and having trouble with the 185.xx drivers should try the new 186.08 Beta drivers. They work properly with the AoC DX10 client and don't give odd shadows with SSAO enabled. Also my cards correctly lower their clocks when idle with these.
You can snag them on nVidia's official site by searching Beta drivers.

I see that you've installed the 275's now,so how do they perform ? And can you notice any differences in how SLI works now compared to your previous experience with it ? I mean stability, compability, microstuttering etc.I'm really close to pulling the trigger on either a 275 or a 285,i have a hard time deciding but i lean towards the 285.

If you're going single-GPU, then I'd probably get the 285 as it's the fastest of the bunch. I got 275s because they were cheaper and liked how they had 1792MB of VRAM/apiece. ![]()

Update: Ordered a Gigabyte GTX285+E8500,also trying the Noctua NT-H1 instead of arctic silver 5 this time. It's supposed to deliver optimal performance directly instead of the 2 week setting time that arctic silver has.

Got the stuff today
Not pushing anything yet but great performance boost anyway ![]() ![]() ![]() This is about as far as i can go with this mobo with a single gpu card,it doesn't support the last batch of socket 775 quads so apart from the E8600 this is the fastest cpu this mobo supports.Next upgrade are gonna cost a whole lot more but this will tide me over for a good while yet.
