No it's not. They are pretty much the same IF it's Vista SP2.

Sorry but win 7 is much less responsive and snappy than vista on my Q9400, 8GB, 9800GT. Same on my studio hybrid. No contest. It's quite apparent. I'm sure it will be tweaked to match or exceed by RTM though.

RC1. I've seen it reported quite a bit on arstechnica too. It'll be fixed by RTM with drivers written properly for the WDM1.1 and further tweaks. Win 7 RC1 caches much less aggressively than Vista which is good for low end rigs but doesn't feel as responsive as vista on high end rigs with 8GB of ram.
