Will I can't say from experience but on my humble system AMD 3200, 1GB RAM, 6600GT set on medium - highish at 1024x768, I get about 20fps+ (mostly it's smooth enough to play comfortably) and with about 80 (most are very small >1MB) mods installed. I think the amount of mods installed only plays a role in the exiting of the game because my game loads up quickly enough and plays fine but it takes ages (5 minutes) to exit the game.

Yours will probably work swimmingly.

Depends on the mods... with the better landscape mods and further draw distance my FPS is around 30FPS most of the time with acouple hitching here and there due to the engines loading method.

That reminds me..... In the vanilla version of Oblivion it was absolutly crap. You were on a nice mountainside blah blah blah with lovely foliage etc. And in front of you the mountains and everything looked like ****. I mean 300x200 resolution stuff.

Has a mod been released to take care of this. It made me difference even if I slid distance up to high

cheers

OK The easy way is to get a Microsoft Xbox 360. Your local EB should have these. Then you'll need the following software. Eldar Scrolls IV: Oblivion for Microsoft Xbox 360. EB should have that too. Run Oblivion in the Xbox and you'll have gamepad support.

Seriously though I'm not sure. Someone round here will hopefully be more help then me. Sorry dude.

Sorry to bump this thread, but i thought i'd try oblivion again with my new pc

I get the same damn (glitch, fps spike, pause) everytime a enemy pops on screen before combat starts. I think it might be the music changing thats causing the pause

Anyone else have this problem? I get the same pause before combat in Fallout 3 too.

It could be quad core issue, or sound issue, im not quite sure, but i know my macine can handle the game.

are you using onboard audio?, footsteps make the game stutter, if you are, especially 4 legged creatures, also do you have any video codecs like nero on your computer?, that also causes problems with oblivion.

Nope absolutley no codecs except the original microsoft ones. i used a program to check

I've narrowed it down to when the music changes from entering combat and when combat stops.

I've disable music in the .ini and it doesnt pause anymore.

Using latest realtek drivers and windows 7 x64

Meh i dunno, my system should be able to handle the game easily.
