Ok, weird. It worked for me with the plugin from that site..

I don't know if it makes a difference however I didn't have /rhythmbox/plugins in /.gnome2 instead I found it in /usr/lib/rhythmbox/plugins where the other plugins for rhythm box, so I copied the file there.
That's the only difference and as I mentioned it was there in the Edit>Plugins menu...
