Yeah, 320$ for an operating system? Thats a little overboard Microsoft. I can build a respectable budget system for 320$. This is why the piracy situation is as bad as it is. Especially with the economy as bad as it is, nobody is going to be able to justify that purchase.
I bet it will wind up being less than that.

There shouldn't be an "ultimate version" it should be a flat rate. 200$ is already pushing it over the edge, 320$ is just ridiculous.

Again, the prices are ridiculous. They should have one flat price for ONE version. This multiple version with huge prices bull**** is crap.

I ordered the $99 Professional upgrade through Amazon. No tax (which you'd have to pay through the MS online store) and free shipping.

My Vista Home Premium x64 install is rock solid, so I'm on the fence a bit. But being able to upgrade to Win7 for $50 is ridiculous. I'll probably do it.

200$ that means here (Spain) at least 400€ probably cannot afford another OS upgrade, at least for 2 years.

I feel like there should be a discount if you have Vista over XP. I mean, Vista isn't that old, the price, in their mind is probably due to the fact that you'll be using the OS over many years. Vista didn't last like XP did. I got my money out of XP, I don't feel that way about Vista. I'm already ready to sh1tcan it for W7.

I just talked to Microsoft. they said that "I will not be able to upgrade my version of Windows 7RC" the upgrade is for people who have "purchased" A copy of Windows. He said I need to but the full version at $300
Or i will half to reinstall Windows XP then upgrade it to Windows 7. I'm kinda stuck and it sucks.
