Default Problem with External HDD install of Ubuntu.

I've a slight problem with my external install of Ubuntu, as I use an Intel 945GMA in my laptop and an nvidia graphics card. I edit the xorg.conf file so that i can change between the two, but I would like to know why when i have the nvidia driver installed, the 3D acceleration on my intel doesn't work.

Default Re: Problem with External HDD install of Ubuntu.

The nvidia driver replaces certain elements of X. Most notably, and in this case, the problem is caused by the fact that OpenGL .so files are overwritten by nvidia-specific files.
