Question MechWarrior 5 in Development?!

Holy cow!!! This news - if true - will be the best news ever!!
Quote:
When Microsoft shut down Shadowrun studio FASA, founder Jordan Weisman bought back the rights to MechWarrior, Shadowrun, Crimson Skies and the other properties in the FASA catalog, and formed Smith & Tinker. At that time, it was too early to announce any plans, but earlier today several videos appeared out of nowhere showing off what is rumored to be footage from a new MechWarrior game under development at Piranha Games, who will reportedly officially announce a new title later this week.

Piranha Games?

http://www.piranha-games.com/Games.html

Lets see... a hunting game for wii\360, a fishing game for wii\360, a transformers game for 360\PS3, and two PSP games.

And Die Hard: Nakatomi Plaza.

For the sake of Mechwarrior fans everywhere I hope that the developer is just a rumor...

I loved the MechWarrior games I think that 2 are 3 were the best, somewhere 4 lost it a bit imo. But this is good news I have wanted another MechWarrior game to be released.

This is going to be interesting because there has been an independant group building a new version of Mechwarrior using the Crysis engine for the last couple years. It's looking to be a top notch game. They are also following the Battletech lore as much as possible so again it's going to be interesting to see what happens.

Apparently they also had permission from Microsoft to work on it and release it O_O

I'll take a new MechWarrior game even if it does to the series what Soldier of Fortune 3 did to its namesake.

From what I see they are using the IP based on Usuage rules MS provides BUT if MS ever wants to they can demand for it to be stopped. Which if this game in development is MW5, I expect to happen so it doesn't steal the games thunder (which MS would make money off of, unlike this mod).
