Default delay after suspend to disk

Hiho,
On my Thinkpad T61p, the video initialization after resuming from suspend to disk takes AGES. After loading all pages back from disk, the screen goes blank and I can hear my busses screech for like a minute or so, before the graphics system finaly gets re-initialized. Sometimes it takes even longer, like up to 2 or 3 minutes. It's working stable alright, but it takes so long that rebooting would be faster.
It's always been like that, since Linux 2.6.24 and nvidia-drivers-170-something. I'm now on Linux 2.6.30 with nvidia-drivers-180.60. The GPU is an NVIDIA Quadro FX 570M. Does anyone know anything about this?

Default Re: delay after suspend to disk

Same problem on the same hardware here. At some point I thought that's related to the '30 sec hang when X restart' problem, but I think they fixed that one.

I also have annoying hissing noises from the GPU busses, mostly during normal use, not necessarily during the 'waiting period' after s2disk (I hardly ever use that though as you point out it's close to useless).
