From a systems administration perspective, it would be glorious to have SSH built in. On our Solaris systems, its a godsend to not have to VNC into a damn machine to do simple file level actions. Plus, current free Windows SSH products (that can be used in the enterprise) are rare and hard to configure at best.

The other two things, while useful, probably would be better off being part of a 3rd party application... though I'm not too sure about Virtual desktops. I personally don't use them at all... not even while on Linux. As for me, i would like to see: - A good disk defrag utility. - More UI customizable options (haven't really checked out Win7 to be honest) - Snappy boot time - Less predefined folders in Documents (I never use Pictures, Videos, etc etc folders. They annoy the fack out of me)

Sounds like your use of WinRAR stems from the gmail limitation... |

You could say it's not downright necessary, but it would in fact be convenient. All in all, the Zip utility in Windows blows monkey chunks (at least in Vista). It wouldn't hurt at all for them to improve it.

How about native support to make bootable USB drive/memory cards. Floppy drives have been out of the picture for 8 to 9 years now.
Or is it already in there?

I think the thing I'm trying to get at here is that winrar support should already be added despite the fact that pirates use winrar to distribute their files.
Why? Because it's convenient for the user. Even if Windows 7 doesn't include winrar, what's going to stop the pirates from downloading it anyway? Hell, what's stopping them from pirating winrar pro? It's just a few minutes annoyance for a pirate to download it, quite a few minutes annoyance for people who don't know what WinRaR is and receive a .rar file from a friend. I don't advocate piracy and I don't think including winrar in W7 would increase it either. It's just like you people fighting against DRM because you say "It doesn't matter the pirates will pirate it anyway it will make it convenient for us if developers didn't include DRM." Don't be hypocritical here people...
