Yea same here, if I burn up this PC my wife will kill me if I don't kill myself first.

I ran Prime 95 for 3 hours with the cpu at 3.61 tonight and the highest it hit was 55C

Ok well in post 259 in this thread Ninjaman has a i7 920 @ 3.2 with 6gb ram and a GTX 285 SSC and he got this

Well since we only have 1 card I think we should be able to multiply our scores by 3 to try and match those lucky bastages that have 3 way SLI. And in that case our scores would be higher than theirs Bob. Congratulations!

With a 8800GTS 640 in the second PCI-E slot, and physx GPU enabled in nvidia control panel, my Vantage score went down by 200 points

any possible reason for this?
I also tried selecting single screen performance mode and got the same score.

I suspect it's because of the additional load on the CPU to control the second card. I would have thought the i7 would have coped with it though. Either that or you have PhysX enabled on the wrong card

. Either way, as long as it's not negatively effecting your games I wouldn't worry
