I installed a new DVD Burner today and it is acting..strangely.
It seems to work mechanically just fine, and I can open/close the tray, but it refuses to read any media I throw at it - it just sits and "spins". It is a dvd740 from HP, on Vista. Could this possibly be related to not having a jumper set in the right spot on the drive? I don't want to crack open the case and fiddle with it unless that could possibly be the problem. I don't know what else it could be, though. I checked HP's driver downloads and they only have drivers for XP, implying to me that Vista's native drivers should work just fine. |
