Profile fails to load

ok, anyone have profile fail to load trouble in windows 7?

I have windows 7 7600 RTM xxxx85 installed on my laptop, and from time to time i get a profile fails to load error. at that time temporary profile loads, log-off and log in again and after that it usually works.

I had this error since beta builds 7000, back then I just thought it was caused by beta OS, but it still happens in what might be the gold final code.

What kind of profile are you talking about? The windows one when you sign in?

If so i never had any problems with it before, on all the builds. Havent tried the RTM though but i'll install it later.

yes, the user profile, sometimes when i login the icons are missing, standard wallpaper, settings are wrong. then i get notification that there was an error loading the profile and temporary one had to be used.

then I logout, and login again and everything is fine.

Don't know where you could file a bug report or even check to see if its a know bug. I have never seen it.

Do you get the error only on the laptop? What about your desktop PC?

Only time I've run across this error over the years of building PC's was attributed to a faulty hard drive.

yes, so far only laptop, desktop still is running vista, i won't install win7 on until MS officially announces RTM.

Will run some test on the HDD, I don't think is the HDD, Vista ran fine on the laptop, It only happens with Win7 on it.

Sound like a bad harddrive had this problem before even tested the harddrive drive and it passed, and still kept corruption the user profile and even zero out the drive and no change so read a few threads on different websites and everyone said it was the drive, so change the harddrive out and never had the problem since. "Turn out to be the harddrive was bad"
