Doesn't seem that unusual to me, after all the definition of evaluate is "to determine the significance, worth, or condition of usually by careful appraisal and study".

Many people I know have had vista for years and are still trying to find something it is good for

I just got the go-ahead to buy MS TechNet!

EDIT: IMO, this thread should be stickied!

Anyway, should I go straight through MS, or should I go through a 3rd party?

So far I've put RTM on my desktop (x64) and my HTPC (x86).

Desktop runs very very nicely. HTPC is having issues with the my TV, was fine before I installed the newest Nvidia driver... I works fine, but when i turn the TV off and come back the TV wont find sync again or if it does the resolution has been reset. On top of that it lost ownership to it's own personal folders. Easy fix, but I think I'll strip the machine and reinstalled from some new better parts left from my last gaming pc upgrade.

Try MS to start with. Use the Akamai links first. They are much faster than the default FTM.

Thanks. I will get some quotes from my vendors too, just to see who can I get it from cheaper.

I got a bit excited reading your post.

MS is pretty good. We got our Action Pack direct and didn't have an issues. I'm not sure how much it cost though...

That is weird

Was it doing this before? Or did you not have Windows 7 on your HTPC previously?

I have only had an issue with 1 app and that is Orb on my HTPC. Apparently, they have some new thing in the Media Center that the Orb app is not picking up on, but since the RTM is out, they said on their forums they are working on a fix.

Till they do, I can't watch TV on my iPhone unless I rollback to Vista

Everything else works peachy though.

I downloaded the Win7 RTM Last night. It look much better than the 7100 that I was using.

I installed Enterprise RTM on my workstation this morning. Things are running very smoothly now compared to Vista! I likes.
