Default Wolfenstein v.s. RTCW

Which do you think had a better single player campaign? RTCW or Wolfenstein?

RTCW had both better SP and, more importantly, VASTLY superior MP.

Hmm, I'm curious -- in what ways was RTCW's SP better than Wolf's?

I think because when it came out, it was a little more original and the initial levels where you fight the Nazi's were just so damn fun

The snow levels were pretty brilliant too and the music, voice-acting, everything just sort of worked

The new one is good but it just doesn't have that nostalgic feeling going for it

RTCW had more of an authentic/realistic feel, and the new one is a pure fantasy game. Plus the weapon selection is not to my liking. So weapons, environments, baddies, and overall gameplay all go to RTCW.

If I had been expecting Qauke 4 with Nazi logo's on the wall I might not have been as dissapointed.

But there seems to have been a lot of effort into this new one...the visuals are (much) better, there are more NPCs, the story is more fleshed out, the boss fights are cooler, and it just feels more...epic.

But I will play through RTCW again now that I've just recently finished Wolfenstein to see if maybe my perceptions are wrong...

It was pretty obvious this game was singleplayer centered since it was announced...

I don't really know which I think is better at this point, it's too early to tell. I would bet at the end of the day the newer game is better for right now, but RTCW was a better game at release... if that makes sense.

Of course the visuals are better. RTCW came out way back when

I left my major gripe against Wolf in the feedback thread, but I'm trying to not let that kill the rest of the game for me.

In terms of visuals (Obviously) and re-playability, Wolf wins due to exploring for gold, intel, gaining and trying upgrades etc.

Variety, balance, atmosphere and coherent story line all go to RTCW for me. I suppose I could give it points for visuals as well considering how good it looked at release, where as Wolf really isn't anything special at all.

So I've been playing RTCW again...it's a pretty good game. As previously mentioned it's more..."realistic" than the new Wolfenstein, but I don't know if it's better...must play on!
