I would like to see the same test done as the one in the original post but with a lower end spec PC. TBH if windows XP was thrown into that test would that be much difference ?

The I7 and 6GB of ram would make sure that the OS doesnt interfere whilst gaming. However maybe a C2D with 4GB ram would have given us different results between the 2 OS's.
