a) Mplayer does not identify audio codec and video plays slow due to several faad errors.
I already explained you have to use -sb to skip a few bytes (10k) to play this sample.

2. Which comand & configuration should be used for mplayer to play dvb:// ? mplayer finds device and tunes in but does not play ts.
Are you sure this is VDPAU-related?
If not, please post the question on mplayer-users where it belongs (do not forget complete command line and output of latest svn and a channels.conf including PAT).

We can play HD file with audio sync if we use -sb 500 and SD file if we use -sb 10000.

HD file does not get audio sync without -sb 500.

SD file does not play properly if we use -sb 9500, 9750, 10240, 10500, or anything different from 10000.

Pls, explain why and how can one find 500 bytes for HD and 10000 bytes for SD?

OK, thanks. We'll post at mplayer-users forum.

I do not need -sb for the HD stream, so you will have to post your command line and output to convince me you need it.

Apart from that: If I see hundreds of these lines:
Code:
FAAD: error: Channel coupling not yet implemented, trying to resync!
I believe something is wrong with sync and I try to skip a few packets (sb) to get in-sync. Of course one should consider this a bug, but note that ffmpeg presently can't read the file's audio at all, so please accept the work-around (or send a patch).

Carl Eugen

Edit:
PS: Could you upload another SD sample? I would need one where people can be seen talking (in the same language as can be heard - nothing dubbed!) similar to the HD sample. Thank you!
