Here is my initial test with the asrock ion 330 with ubuntu 9.04 32 bit and updated bios to 1.50

Intel(R) Atom(TM) CPU 330 @ 1.60GHz
NVIDIA GPU ION (C79) at PCI:1:0:0 (GPU-0)

VDPAU API version : 0
VDPAU implementation : NVIDIA VDPAU Driver Shared Library 185.18.36 Fri Aug 14 17:50:51 PDT 2009

SURFACE GET BITS: 293.643 M/s
SURFACE PUT BITS: 233.462 M/s

MPEG DECODING (1920x1080): 70 frames/s
MPEG DECODING (1280x720): 180 frames/s
H264 DECODING (1920x1080): 62 frames/s
H264 DECODING (1280x720): 138 frames/s
VC1 DECODING (1440x1080): 86 frames/s

MIXER WEAVE (1920x1080): 314 frames/s
MIXER BOB (1920x1080): 469 fields/s
MIXER TEMPORAL (1920x1080): 107 fields/s
MIXER TEMPORAL + SKIP_CHROMA (1920x1080): 149 fields/s
MIXER TEMPORAL_SPATIAL (1920x1080): 38 fields/s
MIXER TEMPORAL_SPATIAL + SKIP_CHROMA (1920x1080): 41 fields/s

MIXER TEMPORAL_SPATIAL (720x576 video to 1920x1080 display): 143 fields/s

What video mode are you actually running? - Frame drops might also be caused by bad match of video/display rate.
