Piranha didn't make the expansion thought. Trine game studios did and it was just as bad if not worse than the original gothic 3. Risen will be a big test. If its relatively bug free we can presume jowood had a lot to do with gothic 3's bug issues.

I really hope that's the case.

The games always seemed interesting, I just couldn't stand the problems.

General first impressions that it is built well and works well will do it for me, along with some gameplay videos. I don't need a demo.

Gothic 3 came out in November 2006. That means if Risen comes out in October this year, it will be a game they've worked on for nearly 3 years. And they did not work on the expansion pack.

Also the xbox 360 version of this game (Risen) is made by someone else, it's not made by Piranha Bytes, at least according to wikipedia.
