Barry, I finally got my MX440 running on Mandrake9.1 with 8x AGP running the 4496 drivers (and I'm soooo happy!!) I know that's the same card/distro you were looking at.

Turns out, all I had to do was install the kernel-source-2.4.21-0.13mdk.i586.rpm file I found over at one of the Mandrake mirrors and reinstall the 4496 driver. Sure would have been nice if that was preinstalled....

Toker which brand and model number of
motherboard do you have? Who made your nvidia GeForce 4 MX-440 card?
What version of bios is in your video card, and
what version of bios is in your motherboard?
