OK. Sorry for that. Cross-posting wasn't intentional per se. At sending time I simply wasn't sure is this issue of mplayer-VDPAU or mplayer itself....

Note that there is no MPlayer revision that broke -correct-pts for PAFF samples, but when PAFF was fixed (at least for many samples) in FFmpeg, the (seemingly) buggy time-stamp handling in MPlayer was revealed. Undoing the changes in FFmpeg might be difficult, I believe I posted the (two?) relevant revisions here once. To find the revision(s) yourself, you will have to use the date option of svn up.
So maybe better solution will be fix time-stamp handling in MPlayer than reverting ffmpeg to buggy state ?
Is there something preventing such route ?

I still recommend to use -mc 2 (and delay or "+"/"-"), Carl Eugen
Unfortunately -mc 2 changes nothing in 29479, but 28900 plays wit it more smoothly...

Have You idea where issue might be ?
Maybe I should play with options related to framerate ?

BTW: As Your replay in this forum is much more detailed than replay in mplayer list - I decided to replay here. If You believe we should switch conversation to mplayer list - pls give me short remark.

Thx for Your help !

Complete, uncut output of mplayer and/or sample missing.

@Carl,

Pls find log.txt produced with -v option. Sample of 20sec has 100MB, so uploading it with my 256kb/s upload speed will be challenge.
Give mi sign if sample upload is needed - i will try to find better upload host than mine.
BTW: Should I use for upload nvidia partners server ?

It does not indicate any problems with A/V sync.

Carl Eugen

PS: You should really fix / shorten your configure line: --enable-xvmc and --enable-vdpau together make no sense (or does this work with S3 Chrome?) and you definitely don't need --disable-apple* for example. Additionally, I'm nearly sure most of the --enable-* options you use do not what you expect.

Well,
Reason for such detailed control on configure is because I'm using network booted system, where sys. image is downloaded by HTTP. In such case I want to minimize size of binaries and have full control over features.
I already tried to shorten mplayer features config line to minimal - no any change....

Do You believe my a/v sync issue is a result of wrong compile config ?

You could try to explain what problems you have with MPlayer: Here, if they are VDPAU-related, on mplayer-users for all other issues.

No, but as I said; Some options make no sense and some do not what you expect.
Additionally, reading configure's output carefully, one could argue that your configure line disqualifies for bug-reports;-)

Well, as it looks like mplayer problem - I'll switch to mplayer forum. Is my explanation from first post in thread somehow unclear ?. What type of details You need more ?. Pls, put answer on mplayer forum.

Thx, br

mplayer doesn't play any video at all, just sound..

TS_PARSE: COULDN'T SYNC
MPEG: FATAL: EOF while searching for sequence header.
Video: Cannot read properties.
Works fine now with -demuxer lavf

Would there be a way for a profile to detect video format for mplayer to use vdpau accel when available? I set the default profile to vo=vdpau but then it only uses the output, not the decoding. I know it is specified in with -vc but that can't be put into a profile or incompatible videos won't even show.

You need this:

[code]-vc ffmpeg12vdpau,ffh264vdpau,ffvc1vdpau,ffwmv3vdpau,[code]

NOTE the trailing comma; it's what allows fallback to SW decoding.

Hallo.

Here is a simple mpeg2 ts file, dumped from my dvb-s card:
http://home.arcor.de/webghost/stuff/vids/00001.ts

Playing like that:
Code:
mplayer -vo vdpau:deint=4 -vc ffmpeg12vdpau,ffh264vdpau,ffvc1vdpau,ffwmv3vdpau, -demuxer lavf -cache 8192 00001.ts
I can see a lot of micro stuttering.

When I play like that:
Code:
mplayer -vo vdpau:deint=4 -vc ffmpeg12vdpau,ffh264vdpau,ffvc1vdpau,ffwmv3vdpau, -demuxer lavf -cache 8192 -speed 2 00001.ts
I still see a lot of micro stuttering in window mode, but when pressing "f" (fullscreen)
the movie is very smooth/ no stutter.

What is the problem her? Why does this ts-file stutter without "-speed 2" in windowed and fullscreen mode?

My Setup:
Nvidia 190.32
MPlayer SVN-r29675-4.3.4 (C) 2000-2009 MPlayer Team
nVidia Corporation G86 [GeForce 8500 GT]
