This issue still exists in this latest Beta, even after we'd discovered what the problem/cause is.
I don't want to turn off "UseEvents" 'cause it's gotta be better than spinning in a loop, but I'm surprised this isn't an easy fix. (Bug-report attached, 'cause nobody'll care otherwise.)

In another thread Aaron pointed out UseEvents actually didn't do anything before 190.x for G80+ hardware. So previously you turned it on and it actually did nothing - so you're no worse off with it turned off now.
