Default VDPAU: blit path buggy colors

Hi,

Here is a sample showing the problem (look around the trump's body):
http://hftom.homelinux.org/tmp/s6308440.avi

It doesn't happen with overlay.
I think it's there since 180.06

I'm not really sure I see what the problem is. Do you mean the white dots that come and go around the man in the red jacket?

Also, how do I reproduce this; does it need a specific file, a specific application, does it depend on de-interlacing settings, or really just the presentation queue? What's the most recent driver you've seen this in?

File doesn't matter (althought the problem shows on dark colors).
Not related to deinterlacing.
Seen with (i think) all drivers up to 190.32.

This new video shows how to reproduce: http://hftom.homelinux.org/tmp/blit_path.avi

1) Start "xine --no-logo your_file" (this first instance uses overlay)
2) Stop (shift+s) this video on a well colored scene. (the image will still show since we have --no-logo)
3) Start another xine instance "xine your_file" (this instance uses blit)
4) Watch at "almost black" areas, this is where the artifacts appear. The video isn't very good, sorry, but clearly through these blocks you can see the first xine instance overlay. Color keying issue?

Hope this helps. If necessary, i may be able to find a better camcorder.

I think this is just the way color-keying works.

Whenever any X Window contains the overlay PQ's color key, the video from the overlay will show through those pixels. You can easily see this by e.g. using gimp to fill a large area with the color key pixel value, and then drag the image over the xine window. IIRC, doesn't xine set the color key to black, or something very close to it, which explains why it shows up on dark scenes?
