Agreed. Magus and others are probably right that is is more marketing than anything else, especially when it first launches and no one is using it right, but... we're all gonna have DX11 cards at some point, so why not use the features?

Very true, though it will depend on how easy the tech is to implement. If it is a pain to do anything real with then it will be ignored like DX10 and only given minor asides... if it is very easy to implement larger improvements, we could see some.

The reason PC versions have little enhancements is because the time and money to implement them is not worth the profit of the PC version to most publishers. DX11 making certain features relatively painless to implement could mean they will see use.

Xbox360 has tesselator hardware I think its a bit different from the ones in DX11 hardware however, but perhaps devs can optimize for both Xbox360's hardware tesselator, as well as DX11.

For the most part I agree... PC will still have a half dozen companies though that will take a step up and give it all its worth, but frankly PC games havnt started stressing the ole 8800 until the next gen consoles, and this is mainly due to ports/multli platform releases. PC gaming is still in its lull... alot of game companies ae just not doing the pc scene, many have left, and so while we still see quality releases that beat the pants off the consoles from time to time... the quantity might not warrant spending money on top of the line video cards for most.

.GIF quantization errors, there is a limit what 256 colors can do.

Those images do show that the shadows now have some sort of umbra/penumbra.
I would love to see image with very large blur area, but there might be a limit how far it will go. (no shadow blurs of several meters)
