blo, Unfortunately that log didn't include an attempt to create a VDPAU decoder object. The MPlayer filter "pp" that you're using isn't compatible with VDPAU usage. Can you disable all filters and regenerate the log. Thanks.

blo, It's fairly likely that you are seeing the issue described in this thread. I can't say for 100% certain because the most recent log file you gave only includes MPlayer's stdout and not MPlayer's stderr.

Well in every test I raise the log level and run the test like this:
mplayer -options ....avi >> /path/to/file 2>&1 Am I missing something? I believe this should forward the stderr and stdout to the same file. |

That should work. Perhaps VDPAU_NVIDIA_DEBUG isn't set correctly; it should be "3" not "2".

I used these options:
export VDPAU_TRACE=1 export VDPAU_NVIDIA_DEBUG=3 |

alex_lion, which display driver version are you using? Can you please provide an nvidia-bug-report (see sticky posts in this forum). Thanks.

I don't want to interrupt but as it is my card doesn't do the job that the manufacturer claims it can. VDPAU or PureHD for short. Should I torture myself and argue with the seller? I bought this to play HD content atm I can't do that and I would be more than happy if this matter would move to a direction of solutions.

blo, That's up to you, but yes, I believe that's the only way to get your problem solved. Sorry!

Stephen, Could you (NVIDIA) announce that there are malfunctioning chip on the market? (this won't ever happen although) As it is my seller said this is not an official announcement and as expected they won't replace the card.
