some days ago i updated my nvidia drivers (to 185.18.31) and since then i cant make tv out work...
at first i thought that something is wrong with the hardware or the cable.. but today i tried making tv out work in windows and magically i worked.. ![]() after that i thought maybe i'll try to install a new beta (190.18)driver but it didnt work too.. now i downgraded the drivers to the old driver that worked before (180.51) and it works again.. ![]() is that a bug or do i need to change some configurations??? |

Here's a (short and solution-less) thread about the same issue with my bug report.

Shameless bump.
I tried newer driver sets, and they all failed to send a signal to the TV once Xorg starts. Video signal works fine all the way from BIOS through usplash. Same issue with s-video and component. (my bug report is on the thread I linked to) |

Hi. I have the same problems here as well. Just wondering if anyone has found anymore information about this as I'm on Ubuntu Karmic now and can no longer build the kernel modules for 185.18.14 against the new 2.6.31 kernel.

In case someone needs it, I just found a patch to build the 185.18.14 nvidia drivers with the 2.6.31 kernel.
http://forums.fedoraforum.org/showthread.php?t=224668 I had to force the detection of my TV in xorg.conf but at least it works. |

I noticed this in the changelog for the new 190.42 drivers:
Fixed a regression that caused TV-OUT controls to be unavailable on some GeForce 6 and 7 series GPUs. So I was hopeful they would fix the issue with TV out not working properly on my 6600GT, unfortunately no go. System still hard-locks when booting in to X with "TVStandard HD720p" set. -Andy |

Yeah, the new 190.42 drivers didn't help me out either. Still no video signal once X starts.
Someone please provide a solution, since this is driving me absolutely nuts. |

Same here... Hard-lock and no video signal upon login with 190.42 on a 9500gt when using my xorg.conf which is configured for tv out.
