Great screens!
This is indeed a true RPG masterpiece, in my opinion. It's a shame mass market reviews will trash it because it isn't like Oblivion.

After spending about 2 hours with the full game, I am truly impressed. This game is like you said, a masterpiece. The only number of games I've played in the last few years where I felt a true sense of exploration are Gothic 3, Fallout 3 and now this game. Gothic 3 didn't run too well on my PC, but it was still quite good with the community patches. This game runs very well and I like the graphics style.
If you want to play a game where you can explore an interesting world and get immersed in a story, this is definitely a game you should enjoy. Try the demo for yourself and see if you like it. If you like the demo, you'll probably like the full game just as much.

I've been playing the last 5 hours or so and this game is already one of my top RPG's... PB took everything great about the Gothic series and gave it a facelift. The gameplay and atmosphere are great, graphics are very good, overall its a very solid RPG. The whole time, I havent encountered any problems at all, which for PB says alot lol. Oh I should mention, the difficulty of the game is formidable - its actually hard!
Honestly, Jowood can **** off. Even though they took gothic away from PB, they still havent fixed G3, then release an expansion to a broken game (some ****ty developer in India) that made the whole thing even worse! |

Well, since Steam had extra DRM in the form of TAGES with activation, I asked for a refund to get the retail version, and to Steam's credit they gave me one.
Of course, now I no longer have access to the game. Ran to wal-mart but they don't have it, too late to go anywhere else. Dang. Hopefully gamestop has it tomorrow.

Eh. The demo seems sort of fun, but I won't be buying this right now. The demo didn't allow much so there is still so much left I have questions about that should have been solved by playing the demo...

Like 5-7 days. Their normal shipping option only takes 3-4 though, and is usually like $2.99.
Now that I am staying away from Steam I should get Amazon Prime.

I want this game badly. To the people who own it, is the world expansive like Gothic 3? That is one of the main aspects of Gothic 3 that I loved. That is a buying factor for me. Some people compared Risen to Fable 2's world, I hope that isn't the case.
