It simply means the 8800GTS sucks at doing physx as compared to the GTX 275.

Since I overclocked my cpu to 3.8, I ran Vantage again and got 15,415 http://service.futuremark.com/compare?3dmv=1271519

Would games (if support physics) run better though? Cause if not, I should just yank it out. What is the point...

Try a game with Physx on it. Don't have a Physx game? Then yank it out, no need wasting power and having another device creating heat in there.

Oh yea, I almost forgot, Overclock that cpu!

Oh well, its gone. Guess I will put have to put it for sale or something.
I want to wait at least a month or two before I overclock. It hasn't been 2 weeks yet .
The way crysis is running now is fabulous.

Are you playing Crysis with the 8800GTS? Try it with and without it to see how well it plays with Physx. Crysis supports Physx doesn't it?

No, I dont think so. I think it uses its own engine for physx calculations, or something like that I dont understand it too well myself. However, it ran amazingly.

Question:
What should be the acceptable CPU score for a stock Q9550?

HD 5870 in my AMD rig does 8585 GPU using the extreme preset, and 16933 GPU using the performance preset.

X GPU

P GPU

Thats @ 930|1300 and using the drivers from the Sapphire CD. My guess is it would pull better than 17.3k P GPU in my i7 rig and I may try it if I get bored. Guy over @ Hard got that with a well overclocked Q9550.

Nice increase over my HD 4870 X2, specially the GPU score. Hope to see the HD 5870 X2 soon.

MSI's Afterburner is nice. I'm up to 1030|1300 on my HD 5870 so far. That's worth 18.1k GPU using the performance setting in Vantage.

Again, that card is in my second computer with a Phenom II 940 @ 3.6GHz. It's going to hold down the performance score a tad.
