it is possible, but you need to edit a file to remove an restriction. MS doesn't recommend. in some cases there might be issues.

Since I just got myself a TechNet account, I just went with Win7 Ultimate on both my PC's. Might as well use it if it's there.

media center works great too with my pinnacle nano PCTV and vista ultimate wouldnt
Damn you, I ordered it from the official store so it'll probably take ages for mine. Still, it was only 40 for Pro - the joys of being a student

As an aside - has anyone else got the download version? Do I install it by running an EXE type thing from my XP desktop or do I have to burn it to a CD?

Default Re: I just got Windows 7 Ultimate.

I went with Windows 7 Ultimate for use with my home computer. I have been using Windows 7 Enterprise at my office, and I like it. However, my office computer is nothing compared to my home computer, so I'm interested to see what a much more beasty machine will do. I managed to purchase a copy from a local computer shop, OEM, for $245 + tax. I always thought OEM had to be sold with a new computer.... but I'm not complaining.
