I am pleased with this effort from MS. It runs fast, not hogging system resources.

It has also correctly mis-identified a potential mal ware thread. I downloaded a game Mod that uses a modified DirectX dll to add widescreen support and although it is not a real threat, it did correctly identify the mod as a 'back door' which it is.

Does this program allow you to scan individual files by right clicking them? That's pretty much the only thing I use antivirus software for other than scanning other people's drives when they bring them to me for repair. I've been using Avira for a while now and its been good, but I am using the security setting hack to get rid of the popups. I'd rather just use something that's a part of windows and is 100% free with no ads.
