On the Arch Linux BBS, jxy found that it was related to the "TwinViewXineramaInfoOrder" option : http://bbs.archlinux.org/viewtopic.p...648490#p648490

I first commented this line, and it worked. Now I have changed it from "DFP, CRT, TV" to just "DFP", and it works too.
Since everything worked fine with the 185.36 driver, this is probably a regression in the 190.42 driver...
I added that line to xorg.conf, but crashed again :-(
Code:

Section "Device"
        Identifier "Card0"
        Driver "nvidia"
        VendorName "nVidia Corporation"
        BoardName "Quadro NVS 160M"
        BusID "PCI:1:0:0"
        Option "UseEdidDpi" "FALSE"
        Option "TwinViewXineramaInfoOrder" "DFP"
EndSection
I have one RSS message in TB that always crash xorg.

My Arch Linux x86_64 is dead since I have upgraded to xorg-server 1.7.1 and newest official Nvidia drivers KDM isn't able to start the environment. I have some strange entries in the logs saying that no device was found. My GPU is GeForce 8600M GT on a MSI laptop. Below is my Xorg.0.log.

Code:

Are you sure that is the same error? Could be different. I had no such problems before Xorg 1.7

You are right, so were people from Arch forums. Thanks

It looks like xinerama support is fubar.
I disabled xinerama support in xorg.conf and am up again with the nvidia driver.
Like others mentioned before.

Which one? Your original log contains:

Code:
(II) Loading /usr/lib/xorg/modules/drivers/nvidia_drv.so
dlopen: /usr/lib/xorg/modules/drivers/nvidia_drv.so: undefined symbol: resVgaShared
(EE) Failed to load /usr/lib/xorg/modules/drivers/nvidia_drv.so
(II) UnloadModule: "nvidia"
(EE) Failed to load module "nvidia" (loader failed, 7)
(EE) No drivers available.
and I did not find another. And backtraces does't looks the same.
