Default HDMI audio stopped working when switched from D-sub to dvi in dual view

I have two separate X-screens in my system. Monitor and HDTV. I have connected my HDTV with HDMI cable. At first I used d-sub cable (from d-sub to d-sub) to connect my desktop monitor and HDMI audio to HDTV worked just fine.

Afterwards I connected the desktop monitor with DVI cable (from graphics cards DVI-I-output to monitor's DVI-D input) and HDMI audio stopped working. Analog audio still worked fine. I can get audio back if I switch back to d-sub.

So, can anybody tell is it possible to get HDMI audio working with using dvi- and hdmi-outs simultaneously?

I have Asus GeForce GTS250 DarkKnight graphics card and Asus M4N78 Motherboard connected with S/PDIF cable. I'm using Ubuntu 9.10 Karmic with alsa 1.0.21-0ubuntu1. My nvidia driver version is 190.42.
