I do have to agree where once you get Liara, it becomes a bit more fun. Her biotics are awesome during intense fights. One problem I had was when you're under fire and Wrex or someone that's pretty much a soldier build continuously pegs you in the back with rounds. With someone that's biotic like Liara or Kaiden, the results are much better, imo. Especially if you're playing the Soldier type.

But the best for me is still playing as an Adept and getting Singularity. Once you get that and Marksman for pistols, it's pretty much over for anything.

I always find it's more fun to have teams of extremes, like Soldier/Adept/Engineer. They get access to better powers.

I'm gonna try playing as an Adept, with Sniper add on, bringing Ashely along for her amazing ass and all round weapons support and Tali for Electronics and her Shotgun.

only 10 bucks on steam. I never played this game, still worth it? How long does it take to beat? I'm not looking for an enormous game, but hows it compare to say Fallout 3?

LOL not even close to Fallout, takes less then 20 hours for Mass Effect...

I would think after 28 pages here, you should already have enough info to decide if you want this game or not.

One person is going to tell you yeah and other will tell you no. That's the way it's going to be with every single game if you are going to ask someone if you should get it or not.

IMO, this game ranks up there with the best of them and I don't regret paying $50 for it when it first came out, let alone $10. But, that's all this is, is an opinion. Doesn't mean you will like it (or anyone else). Depends what kind of games you like, how much you enjoy playing them, and how much money you are willing to invest in them.

Easily work $10. Get it, p play it and keep your saves for when ME2 comes out.

Got it for 7,49e and sold my physical copy for 15e. Love steam weekend deals!

Crap, my Mass Effect steam copy refuses to run and doesn't even give me any errors. Tried the run as admin thing some people suggested to no avail. Meh might as well do a reinstall..

If you're on Vista it needs UAC off or to run in admin, which means Steam has to run in admin, so I suggest UAC off.

Running windows 7 and I got it working by running steam in admin-mode. Thanks for your help!

Wasn't sure whether to post this here of in the forceware drivers thread... anyway...

I recently got the game very cheap and would like to play it with as high settings as possible.

Is there a way with current drivers (currently using 290.35 BETA) to force any kind of AA in the game?

I know there were 2 options a while ago, TSAA (which will only alleviate aliasing in some edges) and SSAA (which was giving the best quality but a huge perf hit).

I have tried Nvidia Inspector and no matter which kind of SSAA (2x2, 4x4, etc) i set it's not showing up in game...

I have even tried disabling everything AA related and left only SSAA applied but to no avail...

Any help would be appreciated.
