Somewhat related, the new issue of PC Gamer has an article calling for PC games to be $60 across the board, saying it will reinvest energy into the platform and make ports more PC focused.

For me, the price depends on what i can get out of the game. As long as the game is offering a good basis for mods and MP, or a super fantastic SP mode, i'm willing to pay more.
A high price for a game with a poor/very short SP, poor MP (no dedicated server) and closed to modding to force so called "micro transactions", is a direction which i'm not willing to support.

I think $40 is fair for regular titles. Its ridiculous that any and all titles release at $60 for console games. $40 should be the regular. However, big AAA games definitely deserve $60.

What would you say if i told you that Uncharted 2 costs 120 dollars here.

Regular PC games about 50 to 60 euro's, which is 75 to 90 dollars.

You guys should not be complaining

Voted $20. It is the impulse buy price point, though it might not be the best from a developer/publisher point of view. Anything higher will require higher marketing costs to make people on the fence to want to buy the product. Though the question of the poll is kind of vague. Optimal to who consumers or publisher/developer, because while $20 is optimal to consumers it probably won't be optimal for the publisher/developer.

You can post what you want but it doesn't matter. Games will cost what they will and people will pay the price.
