However, if you could persuade your OEM (seller/manufacturer) to contact NVIDIA sales and marketing, they should be able to obtain confirmation/explanation. It's possible they'll need to be persistent to get through to the correct person to handle this. Please let me know if you/they have difficulties with this; if so, I will try to do what I can to facilitate this. If you have a Windows machine, you may also be able to persuade them by demonstrating that HW video acceleration isn't available there too, e.g. using the "DXVA info" tool. |

alex_lion, rcampos,
Yes, it sounds like you have the issue described in this thread. Can you please try 185.18.14; it should fail with different debug information from VDPAU; please post those here too. The two sets of error messages together will allow us to be certain. Thanks. |

My debug information is similar to rcampos' one. But I tried to check dxva hw acceleration in vista. dxva check tool shows that my card can only mpeg2 hw acceleration and kmplayer uses dxva only for mpeg2. For linux, we don't have vdpau even for mpeg2. It just crashes. It is not normal.

alex_lion, yes, when this issue is present, IDCT-level MPEG-2 acceleration will still be available under windows, but no H.264 or VC-1/WMV.

jdobry, Yes, this sounds like the same issue. Can you confirm by testing 185.18.14 and posting the VDPAU error messages from that driver. Thanks.

This is a note to all users seeing error message "NNNN 60 5", and in particular, users forsgump, Morkl, bluebenno, amok404:
We haven't been able to reproduce your issue. We believe it's a different issue to the others discussed in this thread. The number of people reporting this issue is also much lower, and not growing. Unfortunately, this means that we will have to close our internal bug that tracks this issue, within the next few days, since we can't investigate an issue that we can't reproduce. The only possibility of preventing this is if we can reproduce the issue. The only practical way for that to happen is for one of the affected users shipping us their GPU for testing. If you're willing to do that, please PM me. Thanks & sorry. |

Very interesting.. I have fixed my 60 5 error by setting up option OpenGL Settings => Image Settings to High Performance.
