Default Which card to buy?

I am planning to buy myself a new NVidia card. Requirements:

1) VDPAU, CUDA
2) HDMI w/ working audio
3) has to work w/ Ubuntu's stable 185.18.36

I guess 1) and 3) limit my options to GeForce 8xxx or GeForce 9xxx. How about 2), though? Does HDMI audio work these days with 185.18.36?

I dont play games so I don't particularly care about the speed.

To my knowledge, HDMI audio is so far only reported to work with motherboard chips.

I have a 9500 working with SPDIF passthrough from the motherboard to HDMI. You need a fairly resent version of alsa.

Yes either the 185.* or 190.* series. I can't remember which I am using at the moment.

I've just got a gigabyte GT220 DDR3 up and running on ubuntu 9.10, myth 0.22, but I am using 190.42 drivers (current supported release). Card supports HDMI audio, although not sure whether the Linux drivers can do it yet I (I can't see HDMI audio in aplay -l or aplay -L).
