Clearly we're in a conflict we can never win, now they're killing our troops from within, we train em then they kill us the way we taught em.

The people of Afghanistan don't want to be westernised & why should they?

How many more children need to be sent home in body bags or sent home with arms & legs blown off before the world wakes up?

Don't get me wrong i support all troops doing there jobs but they never asked to be sent to fight a war against an enemy they can't even take on in a stand up fight.

To say we are there to stop terror attacks on our own shores is bollox, what about Iran & Somalia to name but two places where terrorists can live & train freely?

Obviously my opinion is to leave, what's yours?

I think you need to remember that we didn't start this. It was the Taliban that attacked us first. If we leave them alone they'll do it again. The people going home in body bags (may they RIP) are not going home in vein.

Obama hasn't pulled us out of there for a reason.

I say leave Afghanistan. I say this from a European perspective, not an American one. It's simply not our business no matter how you put it. I don't like being part of a war we had nothing to do with. Our government dragged us in to the war when most of the population here was against it. Now everybody is throwing the guilt feeling on us if we want to leave, bah. The discontent is only growing here and more and more people are pushing for out troops to come home and I wholeheartedly support it.

As for the American troops, I can not say. Many lives have been lost already and I'm simply not sure if these lives are worth it. We've been there for how long now? Only little improvement is shown and with a corrupt government in charge there, I'm not seeing how this is going to benefit anyone.

Most of the US does not vote. Does that mean you say the people of the US do not want a democracy?

Seriously, even with the corruption (and we both know there is a lot of cheating at the US voting booths...the dead vote, animals are registered to vote, etc) in Afghanistan, they have a higher turnout percentage than the US can ever hope to have.

The miltary are there supporting a massively corrupt Karzai government, for what?

They are just hailing to the roots of the US Revolution, you know. We fought a war over tea drinking, even tossed a bunch of it into a harbor.

No, they never expected us to believe that. The expected us to believe they did it with the full resources of the country of Afghanistan at their disposal. As I said before, about half of the military forces of Afghanistan was made up of AQ members.

It's all a little too convenient.

Actually, it is a bit inconvenient. A mountainous nation is a very hard place to fight inside. The old Yugoslavian area would have been far better a location to use. There are even large swaths of Muslims there, if they wanted to make it a religious thing.
