And also: Logical and others who are actually acting as if they've been angered by 3337's posts, .... cmon, suck it up and level your heads out a bit. There are in fact people out there who have benchmarked Vapochilled Athlon XP's, P4/EE or single-core A64s with HD3850's or other last generation AGP cards and have been greeted with scores that spank more modern rigs.

It's fun for David to slay Goliath, especially when David got his slingshot at a fire sale at Costco.

I can't believe this thread got 6 pages... do you really people want to play with this guy? leave him alone with his problems... maybe he can't buy new hardware for now so he is trying to convince himself about that agp "dominance"... but sooner or later he will upgrade and I'm sure he won't look back.

Damn.. I gave my contribution to make this thread even bigger.. sorry... I coundn't resist!

Nice worthwhile addition to the discussion. Really. You must have put a lot of thought into that.

I know, wysiwyg, I guess I just don't like him being called an idiot. Overzealous, yeah I can understand that... but idiot?

I'm being old-fashioned or something. People didn't used to speak so dismally frank on forums just a few short years ago, and now it's common practice to just run someone out of a thread with demeaning comments. Same thing happens all the time in multiplayer games nowadays as well. Leaves me with a bad taste in my mouth about people in general, like it's now so much cooler to act jaded and opinionated. I find it unnecessarily ridiculous.

FWIW if someone slapped a 4850 gpu on a 3850 pcb it has a high chance of still performing as good as the PCIe equivalent.

Another jealous lowly PCI-E user in denial of the DOMINANCE.

Important to note: If any SUPERIOR APG users are out there, to install an ATI series AGP card in windows 7 you must download the Vista 9.10 AGP hotfix drivers to your computer & extract them to a directory. Then, install the driver directly from device manager using the ATI directory and you're all set.
in what freaking world, are you telling me your 3850 could trump an 8800GTX in anything except a score windows arbtrarily assins it? Give me a break honestly, please.
