Mine unlocked a couple of hours ago (I woke up one hour earlier to have a look at the game before I went to work). I will say just one word:
chainsaw Can't wait to go back home

Game is amazing, my friends and I played since the game unlocked and wow, what a blast! We only played through the first two levels of the first campaign (one where we're trying to get to a shopping mall) and kept repeatedly getting our asses whipped on the second level. Almost made it once but there was a hunter waiting inside the safehouse as the last survivor made it inside
Totally forgot to run Fraps so no screenshots... One awesome part though was the very beginning of the campaign; having to run through the hotel with only pistols and melee weapons (until the very end) was really exhilarating. |

I played the first half of the first campaign as well... seems like a LOT more emphasis on unique situations and enviornments, which I like a lot. They really need to add a "capture the coke" mode to versus.
Honestly it's early to say this, given I have played 4 maps total of 20+, but it feels more like the game Left 4 Dead was supposed to be in the first place.

After playing the game for a few hours, the changes that have been made are more than welcome. I really enjoy how the gameplay has evolved from "crowd into a room/closet/corner and fend off the oncoming horde" to a "wtf there are zombies coming from all around" feel. After playing a few rounds on advanced, they really seem to be throwing the kitchen sink at you this time. There are plenty of hunters/boomers/smokers/spitters/chargers/jockeys to keep you busy. The new weapons are fantastic. Melee is fantastic. All around, a very enjoyable experience.

Finished Dead Center... liked the finale, though it was pretty easy. Still, I am playing on normal my first go.

can't wait to play this tonight! They improved the demo dramatically in just a matter of days of release. I can only imagine how good the actual game is!
I bet realism mode is hella hard. |

Haven't been able to put more than an hour or so in so far, but I love the level design in Dead Center and Swamp Fever.
The new melee...heh, just crazy. A machete and a good tac shotty will clear most of a map. One thing I wish Valve would incorporate is a way for a survivor to escape from a hunter/smoker etc, just a button to mash that would let you eventually fight loose. That's really my only large gripe about the games. |

The 5 campaigns all have much different moods... some of them look intensely dark whole The Parish is bright sunshine. Dead Center was pretty much in between.

I played a little this morning. I like the look and feel. This is a really good game, and I'm glad they kept the series going.
