I'm having trouble getting nvClock to change my fan speed. After I run something like "sudo nvclcok -f -F 20", "nvclock -info" confirms that the clock is set to 20. However, whether I set it to 20, 100, or 0 I can't hear a difference in fan speed and the temp doesn't change--in other words, it doesn't look like nvclock is working. Any advice on how I might change my fan speed with nvclock or otherwise?
p.s. I'm using the x86_64 190.42 driver. Also, I did ad the below option to my xorg.conf if that makes a difference. Code:
Section "Device"
Identifier "Device0"
Driver "nvidia"
VendorName "NVIDIA Corporation"
BoardName "GeForce 8400 GS"
BusID "PCI:4:0:0"
Screen 0
Option "Coolbits" "1"
