heh, opendns didn't save me anyway. I have it configured on the firewall as the primary name server.

K9 is pretty tight. I installed it on a PC for a family whose son would always been looking at porn. For about a month solid I got the password reset emails as he frantically tried to reset the password himself, (They came through to a hotmail account I setup), after while they died off, probably got himself a girlfriend.

Well you don't just set it to the DNS. You need to register. Then set it up using the FAQ.

I have found the fix for this. When you are over their house, say that it is impossible to remove them. And that you will have to do a system restore NOW, or the virus could damage their PC more. They will say ok. And you reformat, and reinstall windows. Then for the most part, they lose something important and think twice before going through that again. At least it worked for me. (Tried it 3 times, worked twice)

You should tell them the virus has gone airborne. Then duct tape their doors and windows and set their PC on fire in the fireplace or the middle of the living room.

That should drive the point home.
