Bumping this ancient thread. Does anyone run SuperPi anymore?

1M = 12.230 sec

32M - 12 minutes 27 seconds

Just ran mine for the first time in forever and the best I can get is 14.4 seconds for 1M.

Not bad considering the last time I posted in this thread I was running an Athlon 64 3000+ at 2.5Ghz and it managed 34 seconds in the same test.

That's a 20 second improvement (about 60%) in a benchmark that only utilizes one core. Pretty impressive.

When you have a AMD Phenom II x4 965 you kinda want to use all four.

when you have a four core cpu, why would you only want to use one?

If you want to test your CPU's multithreaded performance, why would you run a single core test?

There are plenty of benchmarks out there that use multiple cores. Super Pi isn't one of them.

Wow Captn when did you set your cpu to 4GHZ?

I get 11.56 when mine is set to 4GHZ but it isn't stable. I think my motherboard is to blame to be honest. I wonder if I should try installing the beta bios they have on Gigabyte's site.
