They are scared. It's the old tactic of "If you can't compete, throw dirt in their eye!"....

Just got my 8gb today. Wee...had to enable 2T, but i dont care. Having all that ram is sweet...after awhile i can see it cache a lot in there, but not a lot, but it still has a good chunk free. I can certainly tell the difference. btw my first 64bit os >< and i am glad i did it with W7

I have 8gb also and I don't think I've ever seen it use more than 2.5GB at one time. Ahh well at least it's there if it ever does need it.

Edit: Nevermind I just ran The Sims3, Word 2002, Excel 2002, Outlook 2002, Access 2002, Powerpoint 2002, Windows Live Mail, three 2592x3888 pictures, and 10 instances of Internet Explorer all at the same time and it used 3.536 GB of ram.

Just installed W7 on bootcamp with mac. Like it. I have been beta testing it just like the rest of you but it's nice to have it officially out!

Well this is neat.

I just found a nifty little feature in Windows 7. If you middle click on an item in the task bar it will open a new instance\window of that same program. For example, if you middle click the taskbar button for a firefox window it will open another instance of FF. If you middle click a windows explorer window it will open a window showing your library.

I don't know if I'm going to ever use this but its pretty neat.

Though I think I'd rather have middle click close a window like it does with the tabs in Firefox.

EDIT: Sweet! Someone actually made a program that allows you to close things by middle clicking the task bar icon...

You should have opened a single instance of Firefox so it would have added another 1.5 GB.
